On of my Perspex cup holders has cracked. It is triangular (ish) and about 10 inches on each side, so overall quite small

I wondered if anyone knew of a woodwork shop who could knock this up in teak .... Or of anyone has a small teak remnant and I could get it made up locally.

The max thickness is probably circa 1 cm. teak on ply maybe more durable?

I wouldn't be constrained by thickness - I think they'll actually look and function better if they are a bit thicker. Any small furniture maker or joiner can do this for you, just give them the cracked one as a template and they can use it as a router guide. Good luck. Post a pic when it's done.

Hi

I have had all of the cockpit perpex cup holders in our Targa 34 remade I teak teak edged and faced ply by Taff Howells. Taffhowells.co.uk

As Jimmy suggested you can go thicker than the perpex. I wanted them made in solid teak but Taff advised that using a ply base with teak bonded to it would resist warping better.

You can either pop down to see him with the old perpex units, post them to hi or make cardboard templates and post them down to him. I suggest making the templates 1-2mm smaller as the wood does move a bit.

I am very happy with the results, sorry I don't have any pics to hand.

No commercial association with Taff other than a satisfied customer.
