Ikea if there is one close by do a folding table that looks the part, not teak but pretty close. All that is required is to relace steel screws with brass and a couple coats of varnish, cost about £15.

If you've got a whitlock pedestal then they do a folding table which attaches nicely to it. When up it has two modes - flaps folded which is good when sailing or flas open which givea larger amount of space in harbour. Ours is over 5 years old and on its second boat! Every spring it gets a sand and a few coats of Deks Olya #1 to bring it back to an as new state for the season.

My vote also goes to the Ikea folding table.
Great value for money compared with the cost of inferior products sold via chandlers.

OK I give in! I searched the Ikea site and couldnt find a folding table for £15 suitable for a cockpit, and it sounds just the sort of thing I could be looking for. Help!

If you are a solent chap ? have a look at Solent Marine in Gosport. The chap makes them on site, identical to the whitlock and cheaper. We bought one last year and I would say it's better quality.

Or

Have a look at K.J.Howells they also make teak tables

Yes did see one in IKEA (in sweden )last week about that price.
i noticed it because it was identical to one I purchased in Denmark 4 years ago
the day after we took delivery of our boat -it gave sterling service on board
for two years (and looked quite classy to) nw sits on our balcony -still in good
condition. ;- I did ,I must admit;take it of the boat when I made a table -or rather
two tables which fit on same bracket -one little teak foldable job for the beer and one full size which seats six for dinner .

An aquaintence of mine epoxied his cockpit table then smoothed with wet and dry and then varnished over that. He reconned that it gave better protection and still looked good. Might be worth doing on a new table. Good luck.
