teak and holly

Gosh, and I thought Howells were expensive!

The use 0f 1/16" genuine natural veneer rather than 1/32" makes a bit of difference, as does using premium quality stock.

Pays yer money, yer takes yer choice.
My Jeanneau sole boards are very light on real teak and holly and can barely be sanded to refurbish them.
So I will go to Robbins on replacement.

I think you'll find it's only 1mm, rather than 1/16", but still a bit thicker than the stuff from Howells. Even so, £300 for a sheet of fancy 12mm ply is a lot of money. My cabin sole is 20 years old, teak/holly, and has never been sanded - am I being too careful?
