Just had a txt from DianaII asking where cheapest fuel is between Torquay and Dartmouth?
I'm a petrol bod, so don't know best Diesel prices there

Any ideas?

Why doesn't he order a tanker to fill up from the harbour wall, that has to be the cheapest way!

Trick question. The only fuel between Torquay and Dartmouth is Brixham, unless he stops a passing tanker...

Bugger. I sent him reams of info on cheapest fuel. Plymouth to Falmouth. All the comercial places for 3000 ltrs. Daft bugger must have run out!!!

The last time I went down there:-
1) There was none available at Torquay - wrong day/wrong month or summat.
2) The fuel pontoon at Brixham did not exist.
3) The barge at Dartmouth was the only place open.

Agree with others - order a road tanker. However this is a very tricky business as the boat has to get to where the tanker will be or vice-versa AND at the same time and same day. Whole voyage could be put in jeopardy if skipper gets this wrong /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cant understand why he wants fuel there anyway. Surely he'd set off full from a tanker or whatever in Solent, Then top up at Bouncer in Plymouth or Falmouth Industries. Theres no where else realy for that quantity.

"Dartmth at fuel barge. 20-25 knot wind NW all th way. Sunny. Will anch here while wind/sea drops. Camaret tomorrer early start"

Well he's taking a completely different route than he told me. Besides Plymouth is only round the corner from Dartmouth.

He is trying to anchor just below my house at the moment. Fuel is 40p a litre on the Dartmouth fuel barge.

advice I txt'ed him was that Magnum posted on fuel feedback a few weeks ago that he got 920 litres at 33p

Even there I would have thought he'd get a deal on 3000 ltrs!! £1200 a fill up does seem a little over the top!!
