Taylors Heater Yellow one side

I have been having problems with my taylors heater burner burning yellow on one side. I have followed all the troubleshooting tips in the manual replacing jets etc. The only thing I can see is that the top of the central tube above the main jet has eroded edges particularly on the yellow side. I can refinish the top edge of the tube but this will increase the gap between the burner and the outer cap. This will affect the gas velocity at this point. I am not sure what effect this will have on the overall burner performance. Has anyone else had this problem and did this fix work. Any help greatly appreciated.

I thought I would share this in case it helps anyone else. I have had Taylors heaters for 20 years and was completely stumped by this problem. Fortunately with the good summer I did not need the heater much. I had refinished the top of the tube and got the burner working evenly but could not sort the yellow flame which was at least 100mm long. After many many rebuilds and having tried both new main jets purchased last year with no success I tried the oldest jet in my spares box. It worked and the burner was back to normal with a small blue flame at each outer cap hole. I can only conclude that I was either supplied with the wrong jets or they were manufactured oversize.
