I brought a 030 model to fit but have run into problems with space for the tank, large SS one, is it possible to cut and re weld the tank taking about 2 inches from it's length? Or should I stick with gas?
Hi Bendy.
Nice to see you in here.
I can not see any problems you will just loose a bit of the time it would burn for.
I would get it professionally cut and tig welded by an outfit that specialises it Stainless work.
If you cut it down yourself have a word with the pros beforehand so you can set an overlap or an edge up stand if that's what they would want.
Cheers David.
Don't do it
Those tanks are £300 to replace from Taylor's
I damaged mine, and while I located 1 from a Boat jumble adapted a small garden sprayer to keep me going.
It worked fine though I do not know what a boat safety inspector would have said to it
There were also smaller tanks supplied for earlier heaters and cookers with the tanks attached on the side. The tank for my 030 lasted for about 8 days on my recent holiday before needing refilling, at a guess the smaller tanks are about half the size.
