Taxi Athens to Messolonghi. Options.

We are flying out to Athens next Wednesday (18th)and need to get to messo. We have decided to get a cab rather than coach but have a query.

We have three options regarding getting a taxi.

1. Let the marina book the cab @ 180 Euros.,(ish)

2. Get a cab off the rank at the airport at probably a premium rate or

3. Bus into Athens bus station then cab off the rank there.

My query is, is it worth the hassle of getting to the city centre for the money saved on the cab fare as opposed to the other options.

Anyone done this?

P.S. has uber reached Athens yet?

It's been a while Steve but we use to get the bus from the Airport to Athens bus station , then the bus to Messilonghi , it quite an OK ride and the bus stop in the edge of the town , or so it use to .

Thanks for your prompt reply. We actually did the coach option last autumn from messo to Athens without a hitch.

Unfortunately we arrive Athens too late to do the coach thing to return, unless we book into a hotel for the night first, which I reckon will wipe out any cost benefit of coach travel.

Taxi it will have to be.

Two years ago while in Lefkas we also had to stay in an hotel after arriving late , the cost if I remember wasn't that much , I say that because am a tight sod I think we paid 30 euro . Still much less then a taxi and you arrive fresh .
