Tax on Yachts??

I have been informed that the Republic of Cyprus is to impose a TAX on yachts (south Cyprus). Can anyone find out if this is a fact or rumour please.

I found that, too, but didn't post because of the date of the 'news': 2003. Have found nothing more recent other than a VAT-avoidance leasing scheme.

I'd say you're best advised to assume nothing. Google can't help, and I presume you have access to it anyway.

For the moment at least, all "normal" yachts (like sailing boats; don't know about luxury yachts) pay the minimum tonnage tax of 350 euros p.a.
