Targa 48 is beginning to look a little dated and is due for replacements. The best will of course be the new Targa 52 (see page 64 June MBY) that already looks gorgeous.

Re: This Friday, and ...

A primary attraction of the t48 is the two guest cabins, making a total of 6 berths. If the sealine does that too, it's competition otherwise it'll be a dud as were the 2-cabin 43ac & squadron 52. Have sealine sorted out the vibrating racket from the fixed plastic biminis? And will this sealine go as fast as it should, ie 38 knots, instead of the usual 28 knots?

I'm not quite as pro-t48 as I'm painted. These two models are still a poor man's Princess V55, itself a poor man's Camargue, perhaps in turn nicked from Pershing? dunno.

The targa 52 will look good, but I am ready for a laugh at southampton: it has twin dinghy garages, and a central entrance gangway to the cockpit, and could have the same problem as the V65 from which this bit of the design was nicked - namely in med marinas, with the passarelle out, how to get to the bathing platform and rear cleats? Jump down?

Second problem T52 is going up front from the cockpit: your route is round the back of the sunbeds, but ooer dodgy cos there's be small or even guardrails becos that bit lifts up. Otherwise scramble over the sunbeds, and rip lumps out of your head with the fancy mouldings in the rear arch. But they won't listen to me, cos I didn't go to Lanchester Poly er Coventry University, and hence wouldn't use any slotheaded screws, nor would I attach fitted furniture into the boat with only silicon mastic, er careful don't touch that Colin.

Re: This Friday, and ...

Interesting observation. You've obviously been studying the pictures hard.

Looking at a T48 brochure (the one with the big breasted girls driving) you reach the end of the side deck and step in.

Looking at the T52 picture in MBY you have to stay at side deck level and walk round the back of the sunbeds. With the covers on it would be even worse. You wouldn't even be able to fall onto the sunbeds.

On my boat (although slightly smaller) you dropped down to the bathing platform and came in that way. Worked rather well.
