Targa 40 saloon speaker removal advice

Has anyone removed the speakers in the saloon of a Fairline Targa 40? I have some old spare Bose cubes I thought I could use but wondering best way of getting the aluminium bars out. They appear glued/attached to the small wood panel which in turn appears glued in place. Is a big tug required ?

Don’t tug !

I cannot remember exactly how they came out but I removed them and as I recall Put hidden lighting inside.

I think theyremove by undoing screws but it was a while ago. Jimmy the builder may know. They definatly don’t just pull off.

I'm afraid my contribution is the same as jrudge's - I've had them out and replaced the speakers, but I can't remember the detail of how I did it. Given that neither of us can remember means that it can't have been that difficult - I think it was just a case of having a close look and figuring it out.

Have you tried removing the cherry panel adjacent to them? Perhaps that's lightly glued in place with some dowels?

Pretty sure nothing on the t40 was glued it was all screwed as I recall
