Im looking to change boats and the T 38 is looking favorite at the moment, has anyone out there got one. Whats it like in UK seas? fuel wise? and general overall.
is it the old or the new
old was produced from fall 1992 till mid 1995 before being rebadged as 39 and produced till 1997
new started production in 2004 and is still produced
I have a 2006 T34 which is currently located in Spain. It was first located in Brighton and then Torquay. As with most Fairlines they are strong boats and handle very well. My boat has KAD300's with EDC.
She took me from Brighton to Torquay early in 2008, in very lumpy conditions, particularly through the Needles and over Saint Albans Ledge - slammed about quite a bit, but it still felt safe and secure.
Recently, I underwent a 300NM trip to Mallorca and back, the wind whipped up the sea a bit on the return F4/5 and if I had not picked-up a sheet of Polythene which caused one engine to overheat it would have all been OK.
I get around 1.5 NMPG and tend to cruise around 24/25k.
I believe the T38 to be an excellent boat, buy it and have some fun! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Go for it ! All fairline Targa's have Olesinski hulls and have excellent pedigree for sea worthyness and handling. At 38 feet she'll be excellent in UK waters IMHO.
I love much things for the latest 38 Targa which would make me consider it a lot in its size...
- aft deck and platform are spacious
- wet bar outside is big and you think it is coming from a bigger boat
- light oak interior wood
- last but most important is its hardware stainless steel finally upgraded and now much thicker to the previous Flines
this last was always a weak spot for Fline I always used to hate for the kind of money you pay...
