Targa 34 - leak into aft cabin cupboard

I remember when looking at yours (before fully prepped) that there was evidence of water in that cupboard and aft cabin carpets had been removed for drying/cleaning. Mine hasn't had water in that cupboard yet, but I do have water that comes through the panels that are siliconed in in the inner side (cockpit) of radar arch.

I can only imagine that this is from the fixings on top of radar arch (cables holes for radar / vhf / tv aerial / etc) and it runs down the inside of the arch OR it is where the radar arch bolts to the boat (perhaps where water channels down, a design fault?).

I'm taking the panels off of the arch to re-silicon them in more neatly soon, so if I find anything there I will let you know.

Oddly, the boat (and cupboard) was completely dry this time. It could be that I've successfully managed to seal the leaks on the cable entries on the radar arch.

If you have water coming in via the access panels in the radar arch that could be a GOOD thing as it means its draining into the cockpit (and ultimately the bilges) instead of finding itself onto the bolts that secure the radar arch to the boat and then into the rear wardrobe. Indeed, this drainage point that you have is exactly the mod that Nick Barke suggested that I make to cure the wet wardrobe problem. Looking back at the bills for my boat, a boatyard had made this mod but it has subsequently been resealed which I think has led to my issue re-occurring (plus I disturbed the cables entries on the radar arch when shipping the boat to Spain).

What I would find helpful is a photo of the bottom of the radar arch behind the access panel and the drainage point on the access panel. Could you take one and post it or email it to me when you're next on board?

Boats, eh!

I had a similar leak on my old Sealine. It turned out to be a leak around the windscreen right at the furthest point aft stb side. May worth a look.
