All our sink and shower water goes into a grey tank and we can pump it out when we choose. However, there is no pressure regulator so it does not work like our bilge pumps. I.e. Stops when it is empty if turned on. It just keep running.

On top of that, unless there is water in the line up to the pump it gets and air lock and does work either.

Bottom line is that the grey tank needs to be so full that water comes right the way up to the pump for it to work. By that time it is also coming back out of our sinks which is usually when we know when to turn the grey tank on.

I'm a novice in this area of plumbing so what do I need in order to get to to work automatically?
