Tank contents

Anyone point me in the direction of a sender/guage for metal tanks ( that has no additional openings.) Water/fuel and the other stuff - starts with S.

A few years back an exhibitor at the Boat Show had senders you stuck up the side of any tank and and it gave the contents level.
