I am on holiday and starboard warning for alternator comes on at 1600 rpm and goes off if you reduce revs to exactly 1500 . Can anyone explain ?

That was my thought so checked belt and next day fitted new one , still doing it. We had this issue a year ago and batteries were goosed so fitted new batteries and no issues till now , exactly a year later . Checked batteries and all have water in them so hope they are still ok .
