hi guys, could any one give me a simillar oil for these engines rather than volvo stuff,welldone in advance my fellow boating friends.

You need 15/40 vds 2 or pref vds3 spec oil of any quality brand.

on the same note one of my gearboxes has gear oil , one has engine oil , which is right?

Shell Rotella 15W40 covers everything including Volvo VDS2 spec, your engines require nothing higher, less than £48 inc of vat for 20 liter tub.

MS 4 has 75/90 gear oil

I have two hydraulic boxes bought about six months apart, one was specified with hydraulic oil, tuther with engine oil.

Could not get anymore sence out of Volvo.
