TAMARISK 29

Can anyone help with some info on the T29... I like the boat but is the Heard 28 a better package? And what of resale?

Obviously not many T29s on the forum!

I was interested to see any replies as I have a T22. If the same approach to hull layup was taken on the bigger boat it is probably pretty substantial. However I have been on a 29 which had slightly springy decks so watch out for these. Nice below though most big boats are when you are used to a little'un.

I guess you are going to have to pay rather less for a Tamarisk compared with a Heard but equally, as you suggest, the re-sale will be less.

I vaguely have in mind to set up a (v.simple) web site on the Tamarisks one of these days. There are a few 29s about, a handful of 22s and a numer of 24s. If I ever have a bit more time I will try to become less vague about it!

A friend of mine bought a Tamerisk 29 after a professional survey which gave her e more or less clean bill of health.

To cur a long story short just about evey piece of wood in her from the deck to the beam shelf to the bulkheads were later found to be rotten.

Take great care when buying one becasue as far as I remember this was a defect that was built into her (and others I gather)
