A seaman meets a pirate in a bar, and they take turns telling of their
adventures on the high seas. The seaman notes that the pirate has a
peg-leg, hook, and eye patch and asks, "So, how did you end up with the
peg-leg?"

The pirate replies, "We were in a storm at sea and I was swept overboard
into a school of sharks. Just as my men were pulling me out, a shark bit me
leg off." "Wow!" said the seaman. "What about your hook?"

"Well ...." replied the pirate, "We were boarding an enemy ship and were
battling the other sailors with swords. One of the enemy cut me hand off."

"Incredible!" remarked the seaman. "And how did you get the eye patch?"

"A seagull dropping fell into me eye," replied the pirate.

"You lost your eye to a seagull dropping?" the sailor asked incredulously.

"Well," said the pirate, "it was me first day with the hook."

Good grief !!!!!

How the devil are you?

Have you been sent here to keep all us Limeys in order?
Are you Kim's new secret weapon ?
Have you still got the same boat?

99.9% of the Dudes here don't know who you are me but I'm sure you will soon show them what 'girl power' really is.

N.B. Haydn, you will now have to relinquish your title as boss of the boghole.

<<A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you are that person. Even through many pirates have a reputation for not being the brightest souls on earth, you defy the sterotypes. You've got taste and education. Arr!>>

Shiver me timbers, Jim Lad! All hands to the futtock shrouds!

Bryon! A pirate if there ever was one! :)

I might have known you'd be here! Have you ever recovered from being rudely awakened by my pounding on your hull one rainy morning in London? :)

These folks deserve to know some history, I think. Byron and I go back to the days when the sailing forum on CompuServe was the ONLY place to be online....he showed up and completely disrupted it...I hosted one of the forums there, and trying to keep Byron in line could best be compared to herding cats. During a trip over to spend time with a friend who'd also gone to school with Byron, we decided to find him...we knew he was on his Broom and roughly where he was tied up. Byron had no idea I was coming, nor a clue what I looked like...and John stayed out of sight while I stood on the dock beating on his hull....so when he finally woke and poked his head out to see who the devil was doing it, he was totally bewildered and then almost had a coronary when he learned who I was...it actually scared the bejabbers out of him to find himself face to face with his online nemesis! :)

Have I been sent here to keep all us Limeys in order? In a manner of speaking...Ian Wright recruited me. But I know from experience that there's no keeping YOU in order! :)

Do I still have the same boat? It HAS been a while! I sold Invictus to buy and restore an old flybridge sedan...sold it when I moved to Little Rock two years ago. So for the time being I'm boatless. Meanwhile, I also sold my company and wrote a book.

Am I Kim's new secret weapon ? Since I don't know who Kim is, afraid I can't answer that one. The real question is, with you around, does Kim need one? (I can't wait to read what other have to say about that! )

Hello Peggie Hall

Hello Peggie Hall. I dont know you, but I know who you are so might qualify in Byron's 0.1%. You were featured in the most famous thread of all time on this forum, the "Exploding Marine Toilet" by Haydn (aka HLB). So, a very good day to you.

Re: Hello Peggie Hall

I keep seeing references to the "Exploding Head" thread... is it archived anywhere? 'Cuz I'd love to read it.
