Just finalising numbers and have a few spaces left - need to confirm with YC on Monday so last chance to come to hear what I think will be an excellent talk. Please PM me by Sunday evening latest of want to reserve space(s).
I know the Full Circles & CPD are coming and maybe Independence.
SHIPWRECK, SMALL BOATS, HIGH LATITUDES
In this talk illustrated with superb slides and some extraordinary video sequences, Roger Taylor tells how shipwreck on a square-rigger lead him to a lifetime of small-boat singlehanded ocean sailing. Roger has sailed 19’ and 20’ engineless yachts from the Roaring Forties to the Arctic Circle. Roger has been sailing for fifty-five years. He has written two books, the much-praised ‘Voyages of a Simple Sailor’, and ‘Mingming & the Art of Minimal Ocean Sailing’, published in September 2010. In January 2010 Roger was awarded the Jester Medal by the Ocean Cruising Club for ‘an outstanding contribution to the art of singlehanded sailing’.
The supper will be in the Long Room at the West Mersea Yacht Club, starting promptly at 7.30pm with a short break before the talk.
There is no entrance fee for the talk however a contribution to the RNLI would be appreciated.
