Taking the mick in Vilamoura

Just spotted that the stitching has gone on my genny UV strip. Phoned someone in Vilamoura for sail repairs.
270 to restitch and 780 euros to replace plus vat at 23%!
Comsidering that JKA in Pwllheli only charged £200 for the original I phoned him up to see what the prices are today, £50 an hour for restitching, so not more than £100 or replace, the same as last time!
It looks as if it is cheaper to bag it up and bring it home to redo!
I told Vilamoura that!
Any suggestions for here before I do?

Ted on Edewsia sewed new UV strip on for some friends, may do it for you, I think he's up at Alcoutim. I had mine done at Vilamoura by Joana, sail loft upstairs near security gate, close to reception pontoon IIRC around €350 email - mail@joanadasvelas.com

Sailmaker at Ferragudo, in boatyard (Mike) is good and did a good job for me.
Think he is agent for Kemp too.

Fou Fou in Lagos enjoys a very good reputation for all aspects of sails at reasonable prices. Whilst he has a full sail loft ashore just off the Avenida , he keeps a boat with contact details on the mainsail cover on Pontoon D in the marina. Failing that as he is well known, ask around.

Joana, in Vilamoura, also did a good job of replacing our UV strip again at a reasonable price.

There was a small sail repair loft in El Rompido about 10 years back. Good work and reasonable.
