Well we have been thinking about it for a while, but we have taken the plunge that will lead to spending loadsa money, we have put Bacchus up for sale.

I knew we shouldn't have gone looking at boats on Saturday when we were bored, passing time looking at boats is never a good idea for us, we get an itch, an itch for a new boaty.

So we've gorn and done it

Fingers crossed for a quickie ........... sale that is!

we are not sure yet, I want a boat with an enclosed helm and Jim wants a somethnig similar to what we have just a little newer and a little faster. We looked at a couple of Rico Marlins which I liked and Jim didn't and spotted a nice Beneteau Ombrine that Jim loves and I liked even though it does not meet my criteria at all!so we will have to see what comes of it. Push comes to shove if we have probs getting the money we want for Bacchus we will just spend some more money upgrading her and keep if for another year or 2...you know what it is like when you start looking and spot somethnig nice and shiny!!

I still have this mad cap yearning to buy an old princess 30DS and re engine and renovate it but hey probubly a realy bad idea!!

You kno very well that the correct boat for you is a botnia targa thing, so i think you should use the money for a deposit and the first few payments after which something is Bound To Turn Up - an economic strategy that has worked very well for many people and almost all governments too!

Sounds like a plan Matt!!! I tried to tell Jim thta the redundancy package they were offering would but us a realy nice boat out right and he would be sure to find another job soon enough! I do not think he agreed that was a prudent plan!

I would have thought an Ombrine 960 or 1001 HT would have suited both of you fine - a few on the market right now, and in both France and Spain they are a bit cheaper.
80k gets you a 2003 model.
