Hi,

My wind display (think it's an MN30) has deciding to stop talking to the wind thingy on the top of the mast, so I thought I would have a go at renetworking them.

The instructions I have found (maybe the right ones, maybe not) say the two units need to be within 30cm of each other - bit tricky without climbing the mast with the cockpit display in hand connected to a battery.

Just wondered if anyone has had any success with pairing across a distance? I will try when next on boat but otherwise need to think of a plan B.

Not sure but think the distance refers to instruments to inst and not instruments to transducers. Raymarine tech dept are fabulous resource, they talk to you as slowly as you want without making you or me feel stupid. Btw the MH trans has been upgraded, you may be able to talk them into upgrade
I know I have contradicted myself after my rude rant last night.

Send the display to the masthead in a bucket, switched off. Then switch it on when it's up there, using another networked display.

I don't have another display. Just wind. And it's not a solar model, so will have to rig a batt to it and send a young boy up the mast (he does like that) if it won't synch at greater than 30cm which just sounds strange.
