Tacktick intruments

First trip with new set of tacktick instruments, the depth and speed are fine and easy to calibrate, the wind seems to take a while to recognise the masthead transducer and I tried turning off and on and then once it picked up the signal works impectably, it is normal to taker a few moments to link up?

Yes the wind instruments does seem to take a bit of time, but there after works fine!

Occasionally I've had to take an instrument onto the foredeck so it sees the masthead better. Once it's acquired it I can cart it back to the cockpit and my dory is hunky.

Thanks, i have got the so called entry level which has fixed instrument heads with a 12v supply but I guess it just takes a moment or two to boot up so patience needed!
