Our boat came with TckTic, however it was removed before we took possesion of the boat. Accidently I must add. The maintenance man for the seller thought that it was not included in the sale.
Any way, Tack tic returned to us no probs, was about to get it fitted when another chap spied our tack tick and asked about it. As soon as he heard that all you do is bolt the bits on and no wires, that was it, he asked the man at the service yard to log on to the tack tic website and ordered one immediately.
Irrespective of the price I would have bought one if our boat had not come with one already.
I wonder how they cope with strong electro magnetic fields.
In my area there are several shore based military bases with a lot of radars and antennas. Near one of them - approx. 1 mile distance - I always lose GPS fix and sometime even water and fule tank gauges start showing various levels constantly jumping.
I would argue they are not that expensive. Compare the cost of a dual display TackTick instrument with a Raymarine (ST60, ST70), Simrad (IS12, IS20), Silva Nexus or B&G equivalent instrument. Tacktick is generally less AND you don't have to tear the boat half to bits to fit it or indeed pay anybody anything for fitting.
Just starting my second season with them - I'm very happy...
