Tac Tick wind Transducer \"The birds have attacked\"

Hi.

Has anyone out there had Guls and or Crows attack wind transducers. This is the second wind direction arrow thingy(the red bit) to be consumed or used as nest material. Getting fed up with it. Could this be because it's red. Has any one had the same problem. Boat is berthed in Gosport.

Yup I keep my boat in a marina GoSport.. and yes over the winter we indeed lost our ST60 wind Vane transduce from the top of the mast... It seems gosport has a problem with starlings, gul and crows. And not only do they nick bits from the top of the mast they do enjoy cr @ping on my teak..

ST60 wind vane and trasduce is not far short of 200 squid to replace. I intend to tie a short bit of string on it this time attached to a suitable place on the top of the mast... that should fox them !

Aidy.

Well at least I'm not on my own, I also have a problem with Cr*p on my teak, a nice family of ducks have taken to the pontoon and make regular visits to my boat. What a nightmare! pesky birds Top , Middle and Bottom.

I get crows in Stanpit (Christchurch). I stopped them by putting a twangy bit of wire from one end of the vane to the other bent so it was a couple of inches above it.

The wire idea is a great one - think I'll try that on my windex which has been knocked out of line and perhaps on the transduceer as well if it'll fit.
