I post this in case it is of some use to anyone else out there. My T90 has had an overheating problem since the end of last season which has proved a bu$$ar to trace. I went through the whole of the salt water system, replaced the impeller, cleaned the heat exchanger tubes etc. etc. but made no difference. I then changed the thermostat, changed the fresh water hoses, checked the water pump. Still overheated. I have been through both systems several times, checked the thermostat at least three times and replaced it again with another thermostat that I had checked. Then came the GBO. I remember from my youth when you could work on car engines, thermostats had a little hole in the disk, just in from the rim. Both my replacements had not, so I drilled one and put it back in. Problem solved and no overheating! Obviously an airlock was forming under the thermostat and it was not operating correctly.

Hope this helps someone.

Good tip..well done.

I must say that when I get an over heating problem I usually take out the thermostat all together as part of the 'remove anything that could possibly restrict the flow approach'

All best Nick
