Don't fit it; only the real thing will do unless you want to be really naff. The only main manufacturer that fits this is Sealine, you wont see it on quality boats such as Prncess, Fairline or Sunseeker.!

CLion I don't know what you've got againest Sealine, but if they are down market so are you, you do realise Sealine was originaly CLine... a bit close to CLion /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif seems a bit of a coincidence to me?

In reply to an earlier post I describe my boat as a T52 1/2 because like most Sealines it only has half a flybridge with the back section entirely devoted to a bathing platform which conveniently reduces cost.

CLine were indeed very poor, the fuel tanks used to be put in on 4 blobs of silicon ( I think they use 6 now /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif), but of course at that time Princess were pioneering the use of fake teak decking, have a look at a P32.

But when was that discontinued? The S48, to name 1, has fake teak which I feel is a reflection of the marque

The S48, which, errm, is the only one with fake teak, and that's on the section of the platform that lowers into the water.

But hey, why let inconvenient facts get in the way of a good slagging off session!

It's actually throughout the deck. Also the Fseries has plastic veneer which is very poor when compared with the quality manufacturers

Smaller ones (F34) have teak as an option. Bigger ones have either the bathing platform or bathing platform plus cockpit with teak as standard.

I regularly skipper an S48 and dvinell is correct certainly has gen teak throughout deck save for the platform which lowers into the water for launching the dingy

Its mystery to me why someone who critisises a certain marc so much would continue to own one, or indeed buy one in the first place.

I mean did you not have this fountain of knowledge about Sealines shortcomings before you bought the T52?

S48 has "real" teak in the cockpit. I was on one at SIBS, examined the teak and discussed it with the Sealine rep.
I also discussed general quality and observed
Sealine: build standard poor, quality control mediocre, functional design very good.
Sunseeker: build standard very good, quality control mediocre, functional design crap.
He agreed.
He also said they had made strenuous efforts recently (since the takeover) to improve quality. Difficult to judge in a quick look at SIBS, but the finish seemed to have improved.
For the record, I have owned four Sealines over many years and many miles.
