Hello all,
I have a speedboat with a 2006 volvo penta GLP 3.0 engine and Volvo sx outdrive
It starts absolutely fine and idles fine and when in neutral can be revved well beyond 3000rpm
However when shifting into forward or reverse, the engine splutters and dies.
I suspected the shift/throttle controls may be the fault, but this is contradicted by the fact that after perhaps 10 minutes of running and a warm engine, the issue goes away completely.
There's no water in the fuel, it doesn't appear to be running too rich or too lean, there's petrol in the carb glass but no too little or too much. The choke is operating correctly.
To me it seems more like the shift lever isn't doing what it should during gear change, but I'm not sure of the mechanics of this engine/outdrive, other than it doesn't have a shift interruptor as you would find kn the mercruiser 3.0 equivalent.
Any ideas?
Thanks
