Mine has given up because the battery pack has had it. Trouble is I can't even remove the batteries. How do I get them out? Anyone know where I can get a replacement battery : /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Rob..are you sure that the battery pack has had it? I have same vhf and thought same ,but discovered that it was the small jack plug for the charger to plug into which had gone ..this is a known fault in this set. So now ,to charge the batteries I connect the charger directly to the battery terminals(two small x headed screws) using croc clips ,and all now works OK. You obviously have to check the polarity using a multimeter,so that you get things the right way round. Hope this works for you. PS you say that you can't remove the batteries..do you mean that you can't slide the battery pack off,or have you taken it off and can't get the batteries out from the pack?
It comes off sideways. Push the slider (on the opposite side) up, and the battery pack should slide off towards the right. Assumes you are looking from the front.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner Rob , I had to go off for a while .....good to hear that you have got the prob. sorted.
