I have a major dillemma! After me telling SWMBO what a marvellous community we have on YBW she wants me to show her how to use it. Now the problem with this is that she will be able to log on, anonymously, from home and see what I am saying about her when I am logged on in the office. Do I give away my privacy or what?

Switch to a new name NOW.

Or continue to log on as you are and keep up the wife-friendly commentary but use another ID to say what you really think. I know 2 IDs is strictly against the rules but I'm sure Kim will make an exception under the circumstances!

Two identities

must be the way forward but only if you promise to give us all the inside story when the wife discovers your secret persona. (she will probably assume you have other secret sides, eg cross dressing on the quiet and things like that!!)

The easiest way for you round this problem is for you to donate your pseudonym to Mrs Marlinspike, and you get a new one. It would be great to welcome another woman to this forum. Much needed. Give Julie in particular extra support. And me of course. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Dont forget it is possible to search past posts - she may even find that one about her mother and the stern of the Felixstowe ferry. So whatever you do, dont tell her your pseudonym.

And since putting her off would raise suspicions and possibly therefore have exactly the same result, you first need a name change, followed rapidly by lots of ingratiating posts along the lines of "my life's little helpmate is a wonderful person with a wonderful mother too". But be careful not to overdo it, or it might lack credibility. So stop short of the " she can reverse the car very well" posts and also the "she is an ace with a roadmap" posts. Not even she will believe these.

Mind you, there is one advantage to all this. She will at last realise that all the hours you spend on the net have abolutely nothing to do with the e mails you get for viagr* and for todger extensions
