SWMBO has selected our next boat!

not grumpy - just simple minded

How grumpy is that?

Alright, you can't sail in shallow waters with it, but you can park it anywhere else and have fun.

Didn't you read the list of toys?

the thought of managing it, worrying about it

think of all the housework involved

too frightening to contemplate

I guess that means that I am a person of modest ambitions

a car that starts , a boat that does not sink and the time to go sailing - after that everything else is a distration

Yours

Dylan the sailing simpleton

I'm with Dylan on this; I can't imagine any enjoyment helming that thing in a breeze, when one needs a crew to do everything including making the tea.

If it had sideports and cannon to take on Somali pirates, well that might be different ! :)

I can't help but think that the point has been missed here.

No one has a boat like that for the joy of helming.

It's a floating hotel for private parties and waersports with the ability to change the scenery.

I like helming, but I also like parties.

I normally drive several family members around in my car, but if offered a free Lamborghini I wouldn't turn it down because it doesn't havent have 6 seats.

I was passed by one of those Perini Navis a couple of years ago between the islands of Brac and Hvar in Croatia, she was the Parsifal III owned by Kim Vibe-Peterson, a Danish businessman - since sold for a lot more than is being asked for your one.

There seemed an enormous crew milling around, all immaculately turned out in whites. I photographed her as she passed.

I guess I am the complete party pooper

I would turn the lambourghini down as well

I would rather spend a night aground up sluice creek

I guess that makes me one dull bloke

Well Sybarite SWMBO has taste. It's a nice looking super yacht, quite classy, not like some of the modern styles, all curves and lop sides symmetry.

Helmming would be quite fun, especially trying to dig the toe rail in. I wouldn't say no if I could afford such a yacht.

Let's see them get it into Emsworth Marina, I'd pay to see that and turn up wth a camera...

As for Lamborghini's, they're tarts' cars, Aston Martin, Jaguar XKR or Landrover when you win the lottery, please.

+1

I would turn the lambo down. No room in the back for sails and no porta potti.

I would turn that thing down for all the above reasons.

I wouldn't mind a day out on it though. That would be interesting.

So given the choice between a night in luxury in a comfy bed and all your friends similarly housed nearby and released from their daily strife, you would choose to be alone, in the cold, heating beans in a saucepan.

Puh-lease!

Surely that is like saying given the choice of a night with Keira Knightley or a night with Anne Widdecombe ( no offence intended, first name that came to mind ) you would choose Anne as she spends less on dresses!!!!!

In fairness I did point it out to her because she fell in love with another: "Carlotta" ( a measly 121') when we watched it docking in Italy.

It's a more human sized (Dylan ??) boat, more snug but still doesn't have fiddles on the table.
