Has anyone modified their helm seat from fixed to a swivel design?
I'm aware you can add an intermediate swivel plate.

I'm after products that have been used with success in relation to robustness and longevity. Anyone able to offer advice on what they have used and how successful?

For fairline targa 40. I've seen boats advertised with them so know it works.

Cheers all.

If your seat has a flat base with 4 tapped holes in it for fixing down like mine, I got a piece of stainless-steel plate 5 or 6 mm thick to bolt to the underside of the seat and a second one to bolt to the seat stand.

I the welded a 25 mm dia rod to the upper plate and a piece of 3/4 stainless schedule 40 socket to the lower / stand plate.

The 25mm. bar would hen fit inro the socket on the lower stand which would allow the seat to swivel/

This is how I did the seat at my navigation station so I could sit on the seat and swivel my legs under the nav table
