I think I need a new switch panel for my MAB
At present there are 10 assorted, mismatched, switches

I would like to cut this down to 8 with 2 spares

I have only seen advertised six way fused panels with indicator lights.

Any suggestions as to where I might find a ten circuit panel ?

Is there anywhere I could have such an item made with the circuit names engraved?

Thanks

Another possibility is to put two panels together. These are two I fitted into my last boat.

try going to the same people that engrave the cups for your club's prizegiving. They usually have sheets of black/white sandwich plastic and a pantograph to make anything you want (locally)

I had a local sign maker engrave a black/white sandwich panel with the appropriate labels for my electrics from a template I gave him. £40 cash three years ago. I then drilled the holes for the switches and circuit breakers in the appropriate places using a bench drill (drill through masking tape to prevent chipping). I then mounted my 10 switches and circuit breakers in the holes and connected them up as required.

This picture is a bit small but gives you an idea of what it is like.

The standard switch panels are OK but if you want the real biz suggest Taplins www.taplin.info and they will custom make a panel for you including a mimic of your boat showing circuits in use. Make them for RNLI and when boats weere built here (Moodys etc) all the up market boats had them.

The one they made for me was about 20% more expensive that using high quality ready made but in a different league quality and appearance.

I've just had delivered from ASAP Supplies a 12 switch panel. My MAB was in same situation as yours. All the 12 or more panels seemed very expensive until I found this. Comes in horizontal or vertical 2 row form with fuses or circuit breakers. Started fitting it yesterday. Looks really well made and easy to fit. Mine is circuit breakers and cost about £75

Don't forget to allow a few spares. I recently had to add an extra 6 - way to the 2 x 6 way already there. I don't consider Anemone has an exceptional number of circuits.

1st off, please consider using circuit breakers instead of fuses as these are much more reliable and convenient. Also, this is a job for someone with experience in wiring as if you get it wrong, you could cause a fire. IF you are capable then have a read here for some good advice...

BEP Marine do excellent panels with mimics too. Their local guys are Merlin Equipment but you can get other switch panels with circuit breakers too. BTW, I really don't have anything to do with them but I do buy and use their equipment and it is excellent quality.
