I think we are up to five recent failures.

Skandia (Grant Wharrington, Sydney Hobart Yacht Race)
Skandia (Nick Maloney, Vendee Globe Yacht Race)
Hellomoto (Conrad Humphries, Vendee Globe) Ram problem now seems to be ok.
Ecover (Mike Golding, Vendee Globe)
And one other Vendee Globe boat, not sure but I think it happened before entering the Southern Ocean.

I think canting keels are here to stay, they have been around for 10 years and are now taking over in many areas of racing boat design. They do seem more vulnerable but that said if they are built properly to the spec and checked regularly they should be ok. I think two of the Vendee boat may have hit objects under the water which I feel would have had the same effect on a fixed keel possibly as they can be thinner as the fixed keel boats make use of water ballast instead.
I am sure more will come out soon in the press on these recent failure, I think we are lucky none of them had happened in the Southern Ocean or we might be talking about fatalities or the authorities trying to clamp down on this great sport.

All racing boats. And if you believe what happened to race boats happened to cruisers, you would expect cruising cats to capsize. Which they dont (usually).
