Swinging compass from auto pilot.

Have gone through procedure to swing auto pilot gyro compass, going round in circles till it says stop, and have corrected heading using hand bearing compass from bathing platform.

Will the headings now displayed on pilot head be accurate enough to allow deviation card to be made up for binnacle compass?

if yes it will save a lot of messing about.

Couldn't say for sure, but the Compass Swinger was going to cost around 125 quid about 4 years ago.

When mine is happy and calibrated on Saturday, I will certainly see how much the new chartplotter has made a difference (mine is in the binnacle), as I used a rough 'Ready Reckoner' before.
