There was a guy (or maybe guys, but I only saw one) apparently swimming up the Solent yesterday, accompanied by a couple of escort boats. I saw them just off Beaulieu Spit.

Anyone know what it was all about?

Re: I\'s not swimming....

It coulod be the men who are training for the olympics (triathlon I believe) that swim up and down the Beaulieu River on a regular basis. I have met them on a number of ocassions. It seems mad to me with all the boat traffic on the river.

Its Tony Blair looking for weapons of mass destruction, apparently a recent intelligence report indicated sophisticated weapon building capability near Bucklers Hard.

Re: I\'s not swimming....

Dave,

I think you're probably right. It seemed mad to me as well, which is why I asked. It's a free country, of course, and they were being escorted, but I can think of safer places to train. My only swim in the River was an involuntary one and I'm not in a hurry to repeat the process!

BTW, I think I saw Dream Catcher getting ready to go out on Sunday. Very smart!
