Hi All,

The swim platform on my recently aquired FL Corniche had some of those horrid treadmaster pads applied at some stage in in the boats history......

I duly removed them at the weekend fully expecting there to be some staining etc but not only do i find heavy stubborn staining but whoever had fitted them had scratched the gelcoat surface to provide a key (bugger)!

I'm looking for a product to cover and disguise these areas and would prefer some sort of white antislip tape, I've found some on fleebay at a good price......!

I do not want to refit treadmaster and they don't do it in a white anyway....

Neither do I want to go the fake teak route (don't like it)...

Now other than re flowcoating the complete platform and applying a grit can anyone reccomend any other products that may be suitable???

Keep in mind I would prefer white.....

Thanks
Rob

Now I know you said you don't want to refit treadmaster but I have seen some in white recently, let me think where it was, meanwhile someone will be along and tell you.

Yup. There are two products for this, buyable on a roll. Both are non slip vinyl surfaces, like lino, that you glue down (ideally with 2-part neoprene glue). They are made specifically for decks

One is a diamond pattern, but much smaller diamaonds than treadmaster, I mean like 4mm long diamonds. The other is a random rough pattern, almost like very fine pebbledash. Both are often used by toolmakers to get the moulded in non slip surfaces on GRP boats. Ferretti's tools are made with the diamond and Fairline use the "pebbledash" pattern

I dunno who supplies the diamond one but I have bought it myself a few years ago and it was widely avaialble. The pebbledash one (which looks much nicer than diamond imho) is here, first picture is the one you want

Both these products look much nicer than treadmaster

Soz guys but teak in natural or fake form just don't push my buttons!

Have now received price info and been offered samples from the Co that jfm put me onto......

Unless anyone has a roll of the same stuff tucked away in the back of the shed going cheap?

Thanks all,Rob /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If all goes well and you buy a roll, report back on here please. I'll buy some offcuts. Need a piece approx 4 inches x 15inches, in white, for a mod I'm making to my passerelle :-) (I mean the "pebbledash" finish, not diamond)

Will do jfm,owe you a favour for past gratuities /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sneds read my previous post,I do not like teak, fake or real i'm afraid! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
