Does anyone know if Swanage currently has a water taxi service, and it’s contact no? Or suggestions for a good place to land by dinghy and be able to secure the dinghy? I recently had mine stolen in Brittany (Morgat) so am now a bit paranoid about it ☹️

Thanks

Hay Ho David are you down this way yet? If so, it would be great to meet up again.
I put my dinghy ashore on the small beach by the slip indicated in Pic.

Thanks.

Yes. Back in the uk now. I went to La Rochelle in July, but decided against Spain. I’m based at Gosport, thinking about a 7-10 day trip west next week, hence my interest in Swanage. Be good to meet up.

If you’re still looking at visiting Swanage this summer then I would definitely recommend making use of the Swanage Sailing Club mooring buoys just north of Swanage pier. We have been twice this year and on both occasions used them. They are easy to identify as they have a plastic card attached to the pick up with the deatils of the club secretary “Moorings Mike” and his number. Simply take a free SSC buoy and give Moorings Mike a call to let him know you’ve taken a buoy. He’ll tell you where you can safely leave a tender ashore next to the club, where to leave £10 for the use of the mooring for the night, and the code to access the club beach for your tender if you go into town.

I’m not a member of SSC, but I've been very impressed with their hospitality and use of their moorings, and will continue to use them as long as they are available to visitors to the area.
