Hi guys, despite my best attempts to search for the supplier...German based?...and subject of a post on the subject about 3 months ago....Anybody have any ideas where I can find a thru deck fitting for Mast wiring that looks like an inverted U section of S/S pipe

It's the only way to go. I had one made up about six years ago at double the cost of the one Iain has provided the link for. Despite what some pessimists say you don't get a drop of water down them and for those of us who drop the mast annually its the answer to all those failing through deck fittings. All my connections are now within a neat wooden box on the underside of the cabin roof where they can be easily done and undone.

They are easy to make if you can find a good welder.

Tubes can not be bent that tightly so they are made from preformed 90degree bends. About £10 each.

Do not copy the types that leave the open end suspended in mid air. They are guaranteed rope catchers.
Both ends must be fixed down to the plate with a Tom and Jerry style mouse hole for the wires to leave.

Hardest part is cutting the large hole in the base plate. But anyone with a plasma cutter and tig welder and starts with pre-polished sections could make it easily. Welding is quick, polishing is hell.

You are looking for welders that work for the brewery, medicine, or chemical industry. It is not safety critical so any artistic welder would also do.

Just had one made by a friend. We made ours with a large base plate to cover the holes from the old glands and made a return for the neck down to deck level to stop ropes snagging it. It is also strong enough to be a harness attachment point being through bolted!

During a refit the yard made one for me. They also put a 90-degree bend onto the mast and we connected this bend with a plastic hose to the outlet of the swan-neck. Worked perfectly. However, it is 14 years ago, the yard is in the Netherlands and I have no idea of the price.
