The manual is on the boat, and the outboard is in the loft, neither of which are readily accessable from the office. Mr Google has failed me, unless I want to shell out (I don't, I am broke, I own a boat!) and I would like to visit the motor factors next door before braving the BHol traffic for the weekend.

So...

Any of you wonderful people able to lay a hand on what grade of oil goes in a Suzuki DF 2.5 four stroke outboard?

Many thanks

Stuart

A 10W/40 4 stroke outboard engine oil eg

But if its only been in the loft since it was serviced it should not have used much oil.

Do not use an automotive oil. They are not formulated for the high engine RPM of an outboard.
Motorcycle oils are not formulated for water cooled engines.

and for the gearcase an 80W/90 EP outboard gear oil such as

Automotive gear oils are not inhibited to guard against the effects of water ingress.
