(1) You find the boat that you want to buy
(2) you get a surveyor and he gives a report that gives you the advantage to
haggle the price down
(3) you buy boat 10k off price and the surveyor is "brilliant and the best"
(4) two years later you decide to sell.
(5) you find a punter that brings his surveyor (same guy )
(6) your punter wants to haggle you down 10k
(7) Your opinion .. the surveyor "talks a load of B#L^X "

Ah yes, but the danger of hiking the price may put it beyond the point where no one comes to look at the boat at all. BTW £10,000 mounts to some pretty hefty work. Did you have it fixed in the first instance? If not it is hardly surprising that the surveyor remembers the boat from the first inspection and the attendant report. He sees the work is not yet done and again comments, but this time to the new buyer.

The other bugger here is that your kindly surveyor, who owes you a favour anyway, writes a report allowing you to get a chunk off the agreed price, but your insurance requires surveyors recomendations to have been complied with, so you have to go and spend the money on fixing it anyway.

The closest I got was Brasil for a year. If you can just hang on for about 12 years, I will be right with you.

PS Everyone else is taking this seriously. Am I right in thinking this was your muse for the day? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
