go to www.boatsafetyscheme.com click on the drop down window (resources) and find an examiner in your area, it will tell you which are bss examiners and surveyors. Think Roger Alsop is in your area.

safewater@supanet.com 01843 583985 for a pre purchase survey on our steel Filmar 36 a few weeks ago. I would not hesitate to recommend him. He was very thorough and took the time to sit down with us and explain his findings.

Many thanks for the recommendations. I was looking for a surveyor who is thorough and pulls no punches whilst having the patiemnce of a saint and it sounds like I may now have found him. Will give the suggestions a call and see how I get on. Thanks again. Best wishes

a quick update; John Tough turned up when he said, did what he said, won the boatyard's vote of confidence, and emailed me the next day with the salient points about my boat which have enable me to initiate the necessary action.
I haven't yet received his full report, but then his invoice will be attached to that, so i guess can wait!
