Just put deposit on a boat. It is a 9.5m 2016 sports boat with Mercury 350hp outboard (200hours) and 1 owner from new - I would like to get a survey. Never had a survey done before so would like some advice please.
- boat has been on an airberth, and is currently sitting on one, for all it’s short life. Can a full survey be performed on this without being lifted?
- what is the expected cost of a survey?
- any recommendations for surveyors in Lymmington area?

Out of water is required - usually a lift and block off for a couple of hours. Cost around £500 plus the lift, but this will not include the engine other than a visual inspection and a review of the service history. common to have the contract subject to survey and sea trial with this sort of boat so that you can see it operating at the sort of speeds it is designed for.

Here ydsa.co.uk/find/surveyors/ is a good starting point for a surveyor. Make sure they have experience of the type of boat you are buying and will be OK with you being present at both the survey and sea trial.

Good liucck.
