I am currently waiting to get a survey conducted on a boat that's currently on the water in Brighton. I am surprised to hear that there is a 4 week wait for the lift out.

While I'd imagine everyone's getting anxious to get on the water I wonder - is that normal at this time of year ?? Broker is looking into moving the boat to another Marina - anyone have any suggestions where lift out could be arranged any quicker ?

Many thanks in advance!

I have just had the same problem in Falmouth, Premier Marina helped me out.

Check your agreement, RYA agreement and some others state if you do not get your written report back within 2 weeks you have to buy.

Pah, count yourself lucky. I booked a lift out last year at Denia marina in Spain in April for a survey and they gave me a slot in June! However, a 50 euro note to the yard foreman got me a lunchtime lift the same day. Maybe try the same thing here. Amazing how the wheels of industry can be oiled

Daka & Mike,

Thanks for your replies. Good catch on the 14 day period to Survey which I had also noted. I might try Mike's suggestion about greasing the wheels with a bit of paper.

The broker rang today to tell me he's gotten the lift moved to 31 March in Brighton so a little bit of progress!

Cheers.
