Superseal wiring connectors

Love 'em :)

I don't use them that extensively, when I install things it's generally "for keeps" so it's either solder or crimps, both with adhesive heatshrink. But where I do want something to be removable, Superseals are what I use.

One thing I will say - it's possible to fit the terminals using jeweller's pliers rather than the proper crimping tool, and I did quite a few this way, but having now bought the tool I realise this was a mistake. The tool makes it so much quicker and easier that it's a false economy not to buy it. Basic one about £20, looks like the cheap Halfords crimpers but with different jaws.

I generally pack the inside with Contralube as a belt-and braces.

in another thread Startline Al and line refer to Superseal connectors. I had never heard of them, but their website

seems to indicate that they might be useful for boat re-wiring.

Any comments, advice, god or bad experiences please ?

Pretty much standard equipment in my arsenal, I keep a stock of their 1.5 series from 2 to 6 pole for connecting anything that may require service removal, proper crimping is easily acheaved as you already have a high quality D sub crimper

I'm using the superseals as connectors for our mast displays, so I can take the displays off the mast during winter. The connectors have lived there three years now, in sun, rain and everything, and there's no problem so far. So I think they can be recommended.

Used them for the bundle of cables at the foot of the mast.

6 way for the raymarine wind vane. 3 way for mast head lights, 4 way, spreader and motoring light. 2 way Pa speaker. They've been in for about 3 seasons, had one or two green bits on deck and lots of greek rain, still working flawlessly!
