The superliner the world is due to come to Cardiff on Sunday.

The vessel will be docking somewhere in the Bristol Channel but passengers, which are a mixture of super rich business men and women will be visiting various places in Cardiff.

Passengers own suites on the boat which range from £600,000 studios to £8.6 million 6 bedroom penthouses.

Perhaps they might like to buy a small island which I have been asked to sell on behalf of two reclusive brothers. A small deposit secures first bid....

There has been a cruise ship anchored off Milford Marina today also ferrying people ashore by tender, couldn't tell if they were super rich though

One rule for them and another for the normal folk

I walked over to the barrage earlier today to take a look at the ship anchored in the channel. The barrage was typically busy with boats and pedestrians on a sunny Sunday lunchtime.

Whilst I was trying to walk back to the marina I was trapped between operating locks and couldn't get out for the best part of half an hour. Barrage control were keeping the road bridge raised from the time that boats entered the lock to lock 'out' until the boats that locked 'in' entered the bay. This was clearly done so that a tender/lifeboat from 'The World' who was locking 'in' didn't have to wait.

Hundreds of people were frustrated at having to wait ages just so that the tender could save a couple of minutes by not waiting for the bridge.

Come on Barrage control just what are you playing at?

I would expect they are under orders from above not to delay the tenders. The Council will be very keen to encourage cruise liners and the money they bring in and wont want to give the pampered tourists anything to complain about.

Anchored off Penarth.
