Superflex and now vent valve

Thanks everyone for info on exhaust. I now have another question but still in the exhaust area.

Is it necessary to have a one-way valve in the exhaust anti syphon line? I have a Bukh DV10 and the vent pipe 'T's off between the water outlet and the exhaust injection point. My vent is a simple open tube that passes through the transom with a small skin fitting to which the pipe is connected. I understand that the anti-syphon pipe will continuously bleed a small amount of exhaust water but will this cause a problem?

Withdraw part two of my question. Forgot (my memory dims with age) that about 12 months ago I posed this question and it was that that led me to my current syphon setup. However, I am still not confident about that setup as others seem to glory a valve in the line. I would be concerned that it would clog up with salt etc and fail unnoticed.
