I have a Supercool refridgerator unit - but it appears to do nothing. Last time I ran it for any extended period there was a very slight burning smell - sort of electrical overheating smell. Very slight but def there. Are these things easy to get serviced - anyone know somebody who could take a look at it on the south coast. (Poole)

Thanks.

Sure it's not connected the wrong way round?? I carefully warmed up a whole lot of fresh food to body temperature by doing that once (not with a Supercool)

is it a compresor driven unit or a peltier ?,if its a peltier then it could be the cigar plug has failed. If its a compressor fridge then the controll invertor will be at fault. the most cost effective way of repair would be to contact the uk suppliers and get a repair center.

Ive used a super cool i bought in 1986,it cost a fortune and only just keeps the ice from melting to quickly. However i got a compressor systen in 1988 and it still not mounted!
This year 2005 i intend to buy an isotherm electric system, which is easy to install works well (ive seen them on many other boats) and can be run useing my 90w solar panel, and not the engin every hour as charter boats do!
