I have been looking at a med boat to bring back and I have been warned that if as in this case its 18 years old they get a 'suntan' that is impossible to polish out. Also as it usual for them to have no heating ?

Depends. you'd need to see the boat. Badly looked after boats can have quite chalky gelcoats that take much work to polish up. But there are plenty of 18yr old boats that are well cared for, and have plenty of polish or A glaze applied, and look good. So it depends on the actual boat and how it has been cared for

It's normal not to have heating. Most tend to have reversible airco, but plenty have no heating at all. Diesel heating like eberspacher is pretty rare on a med spec boat - i have never had diesel heating on a med boat

The boat in question is being sold by Ancaster,do they check on these things especially as it states vat paid on the advert.

Whoever's acting as broker you should still check the paperwork (whatever it is ) for yourself. Just as it's advertised as such means nothing ... given that you need to see the boat for yourself anyway then reasonable to ask for all documentation ( title, registration, bills, invoices etc. ) be available for you when you do.

Folks on here saved me from myself and a very expensive mistake once. That involved 'Title' documents and VAT-paid status.

The boats that don't weather well in the Med are those with coloured hulls. I've seen many Sunseekers with aft 'haunches' that have faded really badly in the sun and no amount of polish would bring them back. Generally though any white or cream coloured hull which has been regularly polished shouldn't be any worse than a UK boat
