what questions should I be asking this guy, before I part with the biggest amount of money I have ever spent on ebay

I am not that stressed about that, ebay will cover the insurance, and would do an escrow type deal

I presume you are bringing it into the UK so you will have factored in shipping costs and VAT ?

If the boat is in the USA there is a high chance it has petrol motors, I assume you have seriously considered the implications of this. Maybe I missed the motor spec, but make sure you dont!

An aquaintance of mine spent £3k in fuel on a weeks hol with a similar petrol engined boat. As long as it is not a problem, and you have the courage, enjoy!

If it is petrol, they can burn 120GPH (40GPH per engine) @WOT

Apart from the possibilty of petrol engines, don't forget that the electrics are probably based on 110 volts which would mean a considerable change to connect to a UK or European power outlet in a marina.

The description is skimpy and, in my mind, suspicious. Without much more info and a survey I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. Where might your $10,000 deposit go?
